For the wandering minds lost in the ongoing uncertainty
Sitting down by the window,
Glancing past the loose traffic.
Breathing out the fear,
Taking in the quiet.
“Everything is going to be alright.”
That’s what they always say.
“The world is falling apart.”
That’s what your head bellows.
How can it be okay…
when the sight of someone becomes equivalent to a health hazard?
when the peacekeepers are at fault for the most horrific of acts?
when the figures of power...
spit out words that disappear into thin air
promises shattered by the merest doubt?
How can it be fine…
when your surroundings are bustling with fearful energy?
when your social media contents no longer make you smile?
when your head is buzzing...
with the compassion your actions won’t ever suffice,
disquietude you can’t ever phrase?
You long...
for the sensation of your best friend's arms around you.
for the grin of acknowledgment from the stranger on the street.
for the times when you looked at a blue uniform
and felt sincere gratitude and confidence
in the honor behind the shining badges.
You yearn...
for a moment free from the paradoxical realities.
for a second away from the internal turmoil.
for an instant of transportation back to the past
for its tranquillity you've forgotten to cherish
its beauty you couldn't perceive.
Perhaps,
It is for the best to smoothen the wrinkled forehead of yours
with faith in yourself,
with appreciation for the placid present,
with acceptance for the fact that
it might not be okay.
What comes in the future,
you will embrace and conquer it then.
It is acceptable to lose the optimistic vision
amid the stormy sea of worrisome thoughts,
but...
it is essential to recognize
that right now...
in this exact moment
It's okay.
